Wanda Givens

Wanda Jean Givens died October 27, 2021 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years 6 months 6 days.  Gravesite services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, November 1, 2021 at the Denver Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Wanda was born April 21, 1939 in Tuttle, Oklahoma to Charley and Ruby (McFarland) Givens.  She was raised in the Little Axe/Norman area, graduating from Norman High School around 1957.  She continued her education at a beauty college. Wanda worked for over 63 years as a hairdresser for Harmony Beauty Shop, which she has owned for the last 30 years.  Wanda was a hard worker working up until 6 weeks ago.  She enjoyed baking and was known for her cookies and German chocolate cake.  Wanda’s joy was spending time with her nieces and nephews, attending all of their school and extra curricular activities.  She also enjoyed Thunder basketball, and was an avid OU Sooner fan.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Ruby Givens; her sisters, Patsy Ann Black and Charl Dean Roberts; her brothers, Donald Lee Givens and Larry Paul Givens.

Survivors include her sisters, Clara Mae Rosenfelt of Little Axe, Jeannette  (Jett) Williamson and husband, John of Wynnewood; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
