Vina Harris

Vina Juett Harris died August 11, 2017 in Norman, at the age of 94 years 3months 29 days. A Visitation is scheduled for Monday, August 14, from 5PM to 7Pm at Crosspoint Church in Norman. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Crosspoint Church in Norman. Interment will follow at Denver Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Vina was born April 12, 1923 to Ray and Elsie (Canfield) Barnhill in Norman, Oklahoma. She was raised in Norman and attended Capshaw School. On Novmeber 17, 1952 she married Lloyd Harris in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They made their home in Norman and were married for 39 years before Lloyd passed in 1991. Vina worked as a housekeeper for Primrose Funeral Home until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery and painting. Vina was a member of Crosspoint Church in Norman.

Vina is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Elsie Barnhill; husband, Lloyd Harris; children, Danner Richmond, Chester Harris, Veon Richmond; siblings, Bartus Barnhill, Chery Kirschner, Della Prince; brother-in-law, George Shaw; and son-in-law, Alvis Grizzle. Survivors include her son, Raford Richmond and wife, Phyllis; son, Terry Richmond and wife, Terri; daughter, Sharon Grizzle; son, Charley Harris and wife, Debra; daughter, Karon LaBoy and husband, Luis; siblings, Truman Barnhill and wife, Elizabeth, Elsie Shaw, B.T. Barnhill and wife, Arlene; 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
