Toy Ernestine Tolleson died April 16, 2017 in Purcell at the age of 96 years 9 months 13 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 PM, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Wadley's Funeral Chapel. Intement will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley with David Dean officiating. Services are entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service. Ernestine was born July 3, 1920 in Byars, Oklahoma to Ernest and Glessie Jewel (Strickland) Tolleson. She was raised in Oklahoma and Texas. She attended Texas A&M where she received her Masters degree in Education. Ernestine taught first grade in Texas, retiring from Denison Schools at the age of 67, when she moved to Purcell. Ernestine was a member of the 9th and Pierce Church of Christ.
Ernestine is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Glessie Jewel Tolleson; and brother, Ralph Tolleson. Survivors include her cousins and many other friends.
