Timothy Deister

Timothy Arthur Deister died July 27, 2021 in Purcell at the age of 80 years 7 months 28 days.  A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, August 2, 2021 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Timothy was born November 30, 1940 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Arthur Timothy and Margaret Catherine (VanBuren) Deister.  He was raised in Shawnee, graduating from school at Mt. Saint Mary’s in Oklahoma City. Timothy enjoyed Trap Shooting, and was a member of the Oklahoma Trap Shooting Association (OTA).  He served in many capacities, such as President and most recently, Delegate.  Timothy earned many awards,  and met lots of people in his 50 plus years with the organization.  He also loved going to farm auctions, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Timothy is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Margaret Deister; his sister, Joan Deister; and his granddaughter, Kristi Deister.  He is survived by his daughter, Mary Richardson of Purcell; his 4 grandchildren, Dana Green and husband, Jeffery of Purcell, Darby Dalton and husband, Charles of Purcell, Tyler Richardson and wife, Shyla of Cole, Cassie Richardson of McAlester; his great grandchildren, Kyleigh Green, Sylas Dalton, Katherine Dalton, Charlie Dalton, Ryker Richardson, Rayln Richardson, Rendyn Richardson; and numerous other relatives and friends.
