Sharon was born November 8, 1952, at Kindley Air Force Base in Bermuda, to Henry “Hank” Edward and Martha Frances (Liverett) Sprague, her journey began in a place imbued with the spirit of service and connection. At the tender age of six months, Sharon’s family relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, where she spent her formative years and graduated from Ruskin High School around 1970. It was in Kansas City that she met Daryl Covey, the love of her life, while square dancing—a beautiful prelude to their union in 1983. Their love blossomed in a cozy garage apartment as they laid the foundation for a life filled with joy and togetherness. In a heartfelt decision to nurture a family, Sharon and Daryl moved to Lexington around Thanksgiving in 1995, where they built a warm and welcoming home. Amidst the serenity of their farm, they forged unforgettable memories with their children, embracing the simple joys of life. Passionate about clogging and square dancing, Sharon brought rhythm to her home, fostering a culture of love and laughter. A woman of many talents, Sharon found delight in quilting, gardening, calligraphy, cooking, and baking. Her hands shaped not only beautiful creations, but they also bore witness to her nurturing spirit. Known for her fascination with jewelry and her adventurous spirit, she cherished travel, especially embarking on memorable cruises, while her heart always found a home with animals, including her beloved finches. In her commitment to community, Sharon served on several boards, including the Cleveland County Rural Water Board and the Cedar Country Fire Board, alongside her role as a dedicated member of the Lexington Band Booster Club. Her contributions reflected her deep sense of obligation and love for her community. Above all, it was the love for her family that defined Sharon's essence.
