Sherri, as she was better known by family and friends, was born November 26, 1955, in Ada, OK to Elmer and Lillian (Choate) Malloy. She attended McLish and Latta schools. At age sixteen, Sherri married Tommy K. Hooser in December 1971. After having two children, Linda Lee and Joseph Dewayne, they divorced in 1977, remaining friends and co-parenting. Sherri held a variety of jobs including working as a manager of the Coachlight in Ada. In 1985 she met Carl Cobb and married November 13, 1987. Sherri and Carl combined their families raising them in the Wanette community. Sherri happily took the role of housewife and mother and devoted her spare time to helping care for her mom, dad, and grandmother. Having developed a love of crafting from her mother, Sherri discovered her own creative specialties. She loved sewing, painting yard art, creating porcelain dolls and making clothes for them. Sherri and Carl traveled often after he retired from the Oklahoma City Fire Department. Trips to Tunica, MS, Memphis, TN and Sumter, SC were their favorite destinations. Baking Christmas candy and pumpkin rolls were a family tradition which was much loved by the family and friends who received the delicious treats. Sherri also enjoyed going to the beach, or simply sitting on the porch enjoying the sun and breeze. When her grandchildren started coming along, at the early age of 34 – which she wasn’t too thrilled about at first, Sherri quickly found that being Nana was her new joy of life. Loving on them and making them laugh would make her days bright and happy. She had the privilege of watching all of her grandchildren become adults and was blessed to become a huge part of many of her great-grandchildren’s lives. Sherri was eagerly awaiting the birth of her 21st great-grandchild when she passed. One of Sherri’s favorite things was to laugh and make others laugh with her. Her friends in the Red Hat Society enjoyed the humor she shared. Although she was sometimes the “drama queen” she was always greatly cherished by her family and friends.
Sherri is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; her siblings, Tommy Turner, Janie Davis, and Linda Smigelski. Survivors include her children, Linda Milligan and husband Jason, Joseph Hooser and wife Sarah, Sean Cobb and wife Julie, Todd Cobb and wife Trisha; her siblings, Lou Jean Graves, Rick Erwin, Pam Simpson; her grandchildren, Stephanie Woodell, Dalton Milligan, Lauren Cole, Krystan Buchanan, Taylor Townsend, Matthew Hooser, Alisha Hooser, TJ Cobb, Bryce Cobb, Alex Cobb, Bailey Cobb; her twenty-one great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
