Rosella Mae Smith died March 6, 2017 in Purcell at the age of 81 years 4 months 23 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Rosella was born October 13, 1935 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Otto and Alma (Hill) Rikli. She was raised all over Oklahoma and Texas. On April 16, 1955, she married Arthur Smith in Texas. Rosella loved to play games, dominoes and cards like Skip Bo. She was very competitive, and out to win no matter what. Often during the games she would cheat, and everyone would call each other names. In the last few years, she had a softer sweeter side. Her family feels so blessed to have had the years with her, and she will be deeply missed.
Rosella is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Alma Rikli; husband, Arthur Smith; sisters, Martha, and Helen; brothers, Arthur, Charlie and Arnold; great grandson, Warren. Survivors include her sister, Marilyn; brother, Roy; children, Patricia Wattenbarger of Purcell, Molly Sanders of Norman, Carilyn Harris of Norman, James Smith of Hydro, David Smith of Norman; 11 grandchildren, Richard, Micheal, Tammy, Rose Mary, Robert, Joe, Scott, Jarrett, Angie, Tina, Prudence; 10 great grandchildren, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Baylie, Kael, Isaiah, Nicole, Christian, Malana, Corey, Colby and many other relatives and friends.
