Oteka Peden

Oteka Lynn Peden died October 17, 2017 in Lexington, Oklahoma at the age of 41 years 1 month 28 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, October 20, 2017 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview McGuire Cemetery in Noble, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Oteka was born August 20, 1976 to Harry Eugene and Naomi (Foster) Williams in Norman, Oklahoma. She was raised in the Noble area, graduating from Noble in 1994. Oteka continued her education at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, majoring in Special Education. On October 3, 1998, she married Tim Peden at the 12 Corners Baptist Church in Noble, Oklahoma. They made their home in the Lexington/Noble area. Oteka loved children and worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for Lexington Schools. She loved church and taught Sunday School, as well as being Children Church Director. Oteka was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Lexington First Baptist Church. She loved being a wife and mother, and was always cheering her daughters on, no matter what event, or activity they were involved in. Oteka was always on the go, and loved to travel, especially to the beach or the woods, camping, fishing, and swimming with her family and friends.

Oteka is preceded in death by her father, Harry Williams; grandfather, George Foster; brother, Keith Williams. Survivors include her mother, Naomi Williams; husband, Tim Peden; daughters, Cheyanne Peden, Courtney Peden, and Codie Peden; siblings, Pam Tucker and Patricia Phillips; grandmother, Sybil Foster; her pops, Steve Yandell; her redheaded step child, Emily Codopony; cousins, James & Holly Parmen, Michelle Foster, Nicole Ayers and many other relatives and friends.
