Mary Sherman

Mary Lou Sherman died January 5, 2021 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years 14 days.  Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 9, 2021at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel.  Interment will follow at Washington Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Mary was born December 22, 1945 in Blanchard, Oklahoma to Denzil and Florence (Putman) Woods.  She was raised and attended school in Blanchard, Oklahoma.  She married Bobby Dodson in Cleveland County in 1968. They were together for around 13 years, before they parted ways as friends.   On May 21, 1982, she married  Lloyd Sherman in Lancaster, Texas.  They made their home in Purcell, Oklahoma.  Mary enjoyed playing Bingo, and visiting with her cousins and other family at reunions.  She was notorious for giving home remedies for whatever illness and pains her family and friends had.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Denzil and Florence Woods; her son, Jeffery Lee Dodson; her brothers, Bobby Woods, Franklin Woods, and Ray Woods.  She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Sherman of the home; her son Michael Lee Dodson of Noble; daughter, Lynne Ellen Robertson of Purcell, stepdaughters, Rita Wills of Belton, TX, Virginia Marie Sherman of Waco, TX; stepsons, Kenneth Lloyd Sherman of Carrollton, TX, William Lewis Sherman of Chula Vista, CA; her brother, Denzil Woods of Norman; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
