Linda Scott

Linda Faye Meekins Scott died March 22, 2017 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 60 years 7 months 16 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, March 31, 2017 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Linda was born August 6, 1956 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Emmitt and Kathrine (Smith) Meekins. In 1958, the family relocated to Ardmore, and then to Oklahoma City. Linda started her education at Page Elementary School, then Moon Middle School. In 1969, the family moved to Purcell, where she graduated from Purcell High School. Linda attended Platt College to become a Security Guard. In 1972, she moved to Oklahoma City where she gave birth to her son, Antonio. August 6, 1997, Linda married David Scott in Purcell. Linda enjoyed dancing, listening to music and cooking. She also enjoyed her time at home and watching movies. Linda was very outgoing, had a great sense of humor and was very upbeat.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Emmitt and Kathrine; sisters, Lena Pope, Dorothy Dailey and Jennetta Hall; a brothers, Joe Smith; nephews, Dexter Smith and Dewayne Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, David Scott of Purcell; son, Tony Meekins of Oklahoma City; sister, Delores Meekins of Purcell and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
