Leroy Schaefer

Leroy James Charles Schaefer died January 14, 2021 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 49 years 3 days.  Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Leroy was born January 11, 1972 in Portland, Oregon to Cheryl Schaefer.  He was raised in Portland until the age of 7, when the family moved to Purcell.  Leroy graduated from Purcell High School in 1991.  He continued his education at Northeastern Oklahoma College in Miami.  Leroy loved fishing, camping and spending time with his friends and family, especially his niece, Kenzzie.  Leroy worked for the City of Lexington Police Department as a dispatcher for many years.  He loved is job and his co-workers “brothers and sisters”, and was always willing to fill in, pull extra shifts and help when and where he could.
Leroy is survived by his mother, Cheryl Tucker; his brother, Troy Schaefer; his sister, Elizabeth Ray and husband, Ronald Miller; his brother, Christopher Gilbert; his nephew and nieces, Kaleb, Kenzzie, Nevada, Shaeley, Saydee and Skyler; his Oregon family, aunt Connie, aunt Candy, aunt Cindy, aunt Shelley, uncle Pat, uncle Jimmy, grandma Barbara, cousins, Korrey and Jenn; and numerous other relatives and friends.
