Leland Unger

Leland Wayne Unger died August 25, 2014 in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years 3 months 20 days. Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 8, 2014 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. A second memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 7, 2014 at the riverside home of Steve and Kathy Randall near Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Leland was born May 5, 1925 in Choctaw, Oklahoma to Charles and Edna (Leonard) Unger. He was in the Choctaw/Luther area. He graduated from Luther Schools around 1943. Leland was inducted into the United States Navy in 1943, serving for a few years before being honorably discharged in 1945. He continued his education, earning his associates degree in Mechanical engineering. Leland worked many years in the insurance industry, before his retirement.

Leland is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Edna Unger; 2 wives, Minnie and Doris Unger; his son, Charles Unger; and his sister. Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Randall and husband, Steve; daughter-in-law, Cindy Unger; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
