Leah Marie Walck died December 14, 2022, in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 65 years 6 months 10 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Washington Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Leah was born June 4, 1957, in Altus, Oklahoma to Archie Lee and Alta Sue (McFarland) Holloway. At the age of 3, Leah’s family moved to Washington where Leah graduated from school in 1975. She worked as a scrub-tech for a few years while starting her family, and then continued her education becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. Leah was an amazing nurse, and has worked in every aspect of health care, but most recently for the Delta Head Start program. Growing up, Leah was Rodeo Queen and Round Up Club Queen. She enjoyed fly fishing, planting trees and flowers, and “Glamping”. Leah was a people person with a big heart and loved fiercely and unconditionally but would set you straight in a second when needed. She loved from behind the scenes, never asking for anything in return or any recognition. Leah was a woman of words, who enjoyed writing poetry, and was proud of her native heritage and loved her chickens. She was a collector of antiques, eclectic things and loved the old ways. In the last few years, she started painting ceramics, and generally up for any adventure. Leah and her son, Colt, were inseparable and went everywhere together, no matter if they were fighting or not. Her family was the most important part of her life, especially her grandbabies. School functions, sporting events, no matter what, she was always there for them. Leah also enjoyed cooking or frying, baking, and being out on the water. She was the rock to so many people, with her grit, her moxie and her warrior heart. For all those that knew Leah, her legacy is one of unconditional love and strength.
Leah is preceded in death by her father, Archie Holloway; her brother, Tommy Holloway and her grandparents. She is survived by her mother, Alta Sue Holloway of Purcell; her son, Dustin Beaver and wife, Crystal of Norman; her daughter, Cara Loveless and fiancé, Mike Nelson of Washington; her son, Colt Beaver of Washington; her daughter, Courtney Loveless and fiancé, Paul Ayers of Washington; her grandbabies, Mackenzie, Brooke, Allee, Ellie, Presley, and Sawyer; her siblings, Lucretia Harper of Purcell, Natalie Hirsch and husband, Steve of Washington, Terry Holloway and wife, Judy of Purcell, Angela Edmondson and husband, Steve of Norman; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
