Lance Lawson

Lance Dewayne Lawson, 33, of Wichita, Kansas passed away unexpectedly January 26, 2021.  Private Family services will be available to watch facebook live on the funeral homes Facebook page at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 5, 2021.  A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM, Friday for all who want to attend, at the Lexington Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley's Funeral Service.

The son of Charlie and Shirley Lawson, born December 14, 1987, Lance grew up in Lexington, Oklahoma, and graduated from Lexington High School in 2006.  He was employed as a restaurant manager in Wichita, a job he loved. To know Lance, was to love him.  A hippie at heart, Lance lived hard and loved hard.  He was a passionate person by nature, and poured his heart into those he loved.  Lance also poured it into causes he believed in, standing up for the underdog and championing civil rights for all.  Unafraid to speak his mind, Lance traveled the road his own way, and gained a great deal of character and insight from that effort.  He loved music, cooking and any time he could get to Colorado, especially if that time involved the ski slopes.  Lance had an infectious smile and laugh, and a keen eye for good shoes, as evidenced by his epic collection of Nike Air Jordans.  Those who loved him are far and wide, and will miss his beautiful spirit.

Lance is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Lawson; grandfathers, Bob Humeston and Herald Dewayne Wheeler; and nephew, Nick Faught.  Survivors include his father, Charles Lawson and wife, Rose; brothers, Kylie Lawson and wife, Mel; Travis Lawson and wife, Heather; his trusted confidant and sister, Amber Findley and her husband, Matt; grandmother, Wuyona Humeston.  His nephews, Ryan Faught, Jordan Lawson, Hunter Findley, and Connor Findley were near and dear to his heart, as were his nieces, Kali Faught, Kenzie Lawson, Payton Lawson and Jessie Lawson.

Though Lance’s life was far too short, his impact was great and his ability to love unmatched.  He will be sorely missed.
