LaDonna E. Griffin

     LaDonna E. Griffin died December 22, 2023, in Purcell, OK at the age of 69 years 2 months 2 days.  A viewing is scheduled from 11AM to 8PM, Tuesday, December 26, 2023.  Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

     LaDonna was born October 20, 1954, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Jess Harrison and Wanda Lee (Myers) Davis.  Her formative years were spent in Midwest City where she received her education and grew into an exceptional person.  Throughout her working years, LaDonna served as a clerk in various retail stores. Her most recent tenure was at Sam's Club in Norman. LaDonna approached each workday with diligence and commitment to providing excellent service. In a beautiful union of souls, LaDonna married Bruce Griffin in Wheeler, Texas in the year 1976. Together they established their loving home in Purcell where they raised their daughters and created countless precious memories.  LaDonna possessed an adventurous spirit and found solace in the great outdoors. Boating, tubing, jet skiing, and four-wheeling were among her many passions which brought immense joy to her heart. Whether it was floating down the river or relishing a refreshing beer, LaDonna embraced life's simple pleasures. A skilled cook and baker, she delighted in preparing elaborate family meals that brought loved ones together. She loved spending quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Holidays held a special place in her heart, and LaDonna reveled in the joy of decorating for Christmas, baking her famous Easter bunny cottontail cake, and carving pumpkins alongside her cherished family.  Beyond her fondness for outdoor activities and culinary delights, LaDonna possessed a competitive spirit. Playing darts became one of her favorite pastimes, and she often emerged victorious in the face of challengers. Additionally, LaDonna found solace in curling up to watch captivating programs on the ID channel and old Westerns.

     LaDonna is preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Wanda Davis; her infant son, Jonathan Griffin; and her sisters, Glenda, JoReta, Gayle and Cynthia.  Survivors include her husband, Bruce Griffin; her daughter, Kerri Simmions; her daughter, Frankie Plunkett; her grandchildren, Kamber Lynn and husband, Dillan; Joseph Rau and wife, Adrianna; Wyatt Plunkett; her great grandchildren, Daxxan Lynn and Kaylor Lynn; her brother, Michael; her sisters, Carolyn, Brenda and Michelle; and numerous other relatives and friends.
