Kasey Micheal Purcell

     Kasey Micheal Purcell died June 1, 2023, in Purcell, at the age of 44 years 21 days.  Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.    

     Kasey was born May 11, 1979, in Moore, Oklahoma to Sandra Purcell and Charlie G. Chastain.  He was raised in Purcell, graduating from Purcell High School in 1997.  Kasey worked a few jobs over his lifetime, but truck driving was his favorite.  He was a proud father, raising his son Payson on his own.  They enjoyed football, Payson playing for the Dragons and Kasey cheering him on.  Kasey also enjoyed fishing, hunting and anything outdoors.  He enjoyed the little things in life, eating and taking care of his animals; however, his greatest achievement was raising and spending time with his son, Payson.  

    Kasey is preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman Jett Purcell and Patsy Ruth Reece; and his uncle, Johnny Stephen Purcell.  Survivors include his mother, Sandra Purcell and her close friend, BJ Maruska; his son, Payson Purcell; his sister, Kelli Stevens and husband, James; his niece and nephew, Charlee Stevens and Brady Purcell; his cousin, Jeremy Nash and wife, Kari and their kids, the Nash Gang; his aunt and uncle, Rhonda Nash and husband, Lynn; his best friend, Josh Van Oort and wife, Taylor; his step father, Charles G. Chastain; his stepbrother, Charles Chastain; and numerous other relatives and friends.

    In lieu of flowers, the family has selected the Kasey Memorial fund, set up at First United Bank as a place to make memorial contributions.
