Jerry Sanders died peacefully February 17, 2025, in Wanette, at the age of 78 years 2 months 26 days.      Jerry was born November 22, 1946, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Thomas and Jewel (Thomas) Sanders, and lived a life rich in love, dedication, and remarkable achievements. Raised in the Trousdale/Tribbey, Wanette area, Jerry graduated from high school in 1965, embarking on a journey that would leave a lasting impact on all who knew him. On April 25, 1973, he united in marriage with Shirlene Houck in Ada, Oklahoma, and together they shared an enduring bond for 47 beautiful years until Shirlene's passing in 2020. Their love story was marked by countless travels and adventures, showcasing a profound partnership grounded in mutual respect and joy. Jerry's passions were as varied as they were cherished. A devoted livestock enthusiast, he found delight tending to his animals and honing his craft in leather and rope braiding. His expertise in horse training and attention to blood lines reached remarkable heights when, in 2011, a horse he raised was awarded the prestigious AQHA World Champion Cattle Sorting Champion title. A true aficionado, he passionately studied horse training videos and dedicated himself to training his beloved Border Collies. His professional life mirrored his personal dedication, with Jerry dedicating 50 years to the pipeline industry, 20 of those years in the rugged landscapes of Alaska. He relished the experience of operating pipeline equipment and took pride in driving through his pastures, nurturing his livestock. Beyond his many accomplishments, Jerry was a proud Mason and, above all, a loving family man. His greatest joy came from the time spent with his family, particularly his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever remember his wisdom and warmth.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Jewel Sanders; his wife, Shirlene Sanders; his sisters, Ruby Burris, Patsy Hoofard, Marybell Barnett and Wynona Jones; his brothers, Benny Sanders, Jock Sanders and Tommy Sanders. Survivors include his son, Robbie Sanders and wife, Jan; his son, BJ Sanders and wife, Lisa; his 4 grandchildren, Tyler Sanders, Coleman Sanders, Braydon Sanders and fiancé, Montanna Lam, Kaydence Sanders; his 3 great grandchildren, Tobias Sanders, Titus Sanders and Thea Maeve Sanders; and numerous other relatives and friends.
