James Kenneth Evans, Sr. Peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at his home in Lexington, at the age of 90 years 10 months 5 days. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Ken was born March 24, 1931, in Tuttle, Oklahoma to James Tillman and Annie B. (Cowan) Evans. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Hawkins, November 5, 1953. Ken served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a charter member of the Lexington Free Will Baptist Church and was the senior deacon. Ken and Mary have two children, James K. Evans, Jr. and Amy Louise Langston, and a host of foster children.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, James and Annie Evans; and his sister, Katherine Clark. Survivors include his loving and caring wife of 68 years, Mary Ann Evans; his son, Jim Evans and wife, Tammy; his daughter, Amy Langston and husband, Chuck; his six grandchildren, Kenny, Tiffany and Trevor Evans, Christian, Justice and Reagan Langston; his six great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Ken was loved and respected by many. His family would like to thank all the nurses and aides from Loving Care Hospice, who came out and took care of Ken and Mary.
