Elzie Sellars

Elzie Raymond Sellars died on August 14, 2021 in Mustang, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years 9 months 6 days.  Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00, Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Elzie was born November 8, 1927 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Clyde M. and Leona Noel (Dugger) Sellars.  He was raised and attended school in Purcell, Oklahoma.  On June 11, 1945, Elzie married Vesta Oleta Zimmerman in Guthrie, Oklahoma.  They were married for 55 years before Vesta died in 2000.  Elzie was a hard worker and worked as a Batch Plant Operator for many years at Dolese Brothers in Oklahoma City until his retirement in 1990.  He enjoyed fishing and gardening.  Elzie also loved spending time with his family.

Elzie is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Leona Sellars; his wife, Vesta Sellars; his brother, Dale Sellars; his sister, Juanita Rose; his sons-in-law, Gary Hill and Chris Walker.  Survivors include his son, Jimmy Ray Sellars and wife, LaDonna; daughter, Debbie Walker; daughter, Linda Hill; brother, Harold Dean Sellars; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
