Donna Gayle Jarrel

     Donna Gayle Jarrel died March 2, 2025, in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age 75 years 15 days. Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

     Donna was born February 18, 1950, in Norman, Oklahoma to S.J. and Grace Ellen (Vinyard) Booker. She spent her formative years in Purcell, where she demonstrated great promise and graduated from Purcell High School in 1968. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to further her education at East Central University, the University of Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State University. On July 25, 1969, she united in marriage with her beloved husband, Ira Mitchell “Mitch” Jarrel, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey together in their hometown of Purcell. Throughout her life, Donna embraced various roles with dedication and fervor, ranging from teaching Graphic Arts at the Vo-Tech to serving as a Revenue Auditor at Riverwind. Her selflessness and compassion shone brightly in all that she did, as she continually sought to assist those around her. Donna possessed a love for reading and the arts; her creative endeavors often found expression through crafting, particularly in stained glass and painting. In addition to her artistic passions, she enjoyed playing computer games like Frogger, often inspiring laughter and joy in the moments spent with family and friends. A true pillar of strength with an infectious sense of humor, Donna actively sought harmony and resolution in any dispute. Above all, it was her family to whom she devoted her deepest affections. Donna was truly the glue that held her loved ones together, crafting treasured moments that will forever remain etched in their hearts, and her legacy of love will resonate profoundly within them. 

     Donna is preceded in death by her parents, S.J. and Grace Booker; her husband of 54 years, Mitch Jarrel; her granddaughter, Lacie Jarrel; and her nephew, Cory Booker. Survivors include her daughter, Cami Jarrel; her son, Doug Jarrel; her daughter-in-law, Trisha Plumlee; her grandchildren, Alley Duke and husband, Dalton, Aryan Toth, Amberly Samples and husband, James, Dillon Lack, Jayden Jarrel, Phenix Jarrel, Shaylee Wells, Ashtin Byrd, Chantilly Findley, Titus Jarrel; her great grandchildren, JW Folsom, Newt Folsom, Hagen Duke, Bo Duke, Bryntley Duke, Emory Toth, Avery Toth, Landon Toth, Wyatt Arbister, Harper Samples, Peyton Samples; brother, Jim Booker and wife, Kathy; niece, Jamie Booker; and numerous other relatives and friends.
