Dennis Murphy

Dennis Kevin Murphy died August 3, 2019 in Norman at the age of 61 years 8 months 30 days. Celebration of Life services are scheduled for 6:00 PM, Friday, August 23, at the Norman Train Depot located at 200 S. Jones Ave. Memorial Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 24, at the Southern Hills Baptist Church located at 2501 Country Club Road in Chickasha, Oklahoma, entrusted to the care of Wadley's Funeral Service, Inc.

Kevin was born November 4, 1957 to James and Hazel (Simpkins) Murphy in Maracaibo, Venezuela. His family moved to Norman in 1960, where he had lived most of his life. Kevin operated a plant leasing business and a water garden design and construction business. He also worked with and was on the board of the Full Circle Adult Day Center in Norman and the Resurrection House and the Life Skills Institute in Chickasha. Kevin enjoyed hiking and was an avid Sooner fan.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Liam Przelomski. Survivors include his brothers, Sean (Candy) Murphy, and Brendan (Cathy) Murphy; his sisters, Mary (Darrell) Schwartz, and Terri (James) Pilkington; his nieces, Allison (Pilkington) Keele, Kelli (Pilkington) Estes, Mallory (Murphy) Langlois, Laurel (Murphy) Hoffmann, and Hailey (Murphy) Johnston; his nephews Aaron Pilkington, Stefan Przelomski, and Keegan Murphy, and many other relatives and friends.
