Delores Meekins

Delores Meekins died December 7, 2017 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years 2 months 19 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, December 15, 2017 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Delores was born September 19, 1953 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Emmitt and Katherine (Smith) Meekins. In 1958, the family relocated to Ardmore, and then to Oklahoma City. Delores was raised and attended school in Oklahoma City. She moved to Purcell in 1984. Delores continued her education, becoming a Certified Nurse Aide and then a Certified Medication Aide. She worked in Long Term Care for many years, most recently at Wadley Care Center and Purcell Care Center. Delores loved to be at home, reading or watching Entertainment News. She loved her family and spending time with them as well.

Delores is preceded in death by her parents, Emmitt and Kathrine; sisters, Linda Scott, Lena Pope, Dorothy Dailey and Jennetta Hall; a brother, Joe Smith; nephews, Dexter Smith and Dewayne Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Latasha Meekins; sons, Tarus Meekins and Kevin Meekins; granddaughter, Taylor Meekins; great grandson, Righteous Meekins and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
