Danny Lee Henderson

     Danny Lee Henderson died April 7, 2025, in Purcell, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years 5 months 20 days. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

     Danny was born October 18, 1957, in Lexington, Oklahoma to Floyd and Velma Norene (Cox) Henderson. Raised in the small community of Purcell, he embodied the values instilled in him from a young age. Danny was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on September 12, 1976, by brother Harold Holder, alongside his brother, Terry. For many years, Danny served diligently on the rail crew for the Santa Fe railroad; later he lent his talents to an oil field pipe company, where his industrious spirit continued to shine. His life was forever changed after he was crushed by a pipe while on the job. A true hands-on individual, Danny possessed a natural affinity for mechanics. He found joy in tinkering, endlessly drawn to the satisfaction of working on cars. His passion for hot rods and cruising down main street reflected his vibrant personality and love for life’s simple pleasures. Danny was not just a man of skill; he was a beacon of generosity. Despite facing his own struggles, he always extended a helping hand to those in need. He had a giving heart; whether helping his brother Terry with various projects or tending to the church grounds when able, his willingness to support others never wavered. Danny loved his family more than anything, and would regularly stop by just to bring them breakfast from Carl’s Jr, donuts, or feel-better groceries when they were sick.

     Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Norene Henderson; and his brother, Gerald Henderson. Survivors include his daughter, Sarah Nolley and husband, Matt; grandchildren, Wyatt and Sawyer; his brother, Terry Henderson and wife, Cheryl; his brother, Kenneth Henderson and wife, Francine; his sister-in-law, Charlene Henderson; his close nieces and nephews, Lauren Brickey and husband, Jolian, and their children, Ellia and Eden, Zack Henderson and wife, Kristin, and their son, Roarke, Casie Henderson and fiancé, Caleb Stevens; Kirk Henderson and wife, Lisa; and numerous other relatives and friends.

     As we remember Danny, let us always remember his immeasurable kindness for those around him, especially his love for family and friends. If we can learn to give as he gave, our lives will be forever changed.
