Christopher George Bond passed from this life March 20, 2025, in Hobbs, New Mexico at the age of 57 years 2 months 26 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM, Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Lexington Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Chris was born December 25, 1967, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to James Gordon and Saundra Kaye (Wright) Bond. His journey through life began in the small town of Tryon, Oklahoma, where he was raised and completed his education in Agra. On July 4, 1992, Chris embraced his faith with heartfelt devotion, being baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the First Born by brother Eddie Tomlinson, Sr. The same year, he married the love of his life, Sandra Tyree, on December 4, and together, they nurtured a beautiful family, welcoming four cherished children: Kayla, Garrick, Dravin, and Kearstin. A man of unwavering dedication, Chris excelled as a carpenter, electrician, and general contractor. His work ethic was not merely a means of providing for his family, but a testament to his character. Those who knew him appreciate the care he took in every project and the pride he found in his labor. Beyond work, Chris found joy in hunting and camping adventures with loved ones. He relished hosting friends and family, creating moments of joy and fellowship. Chris loved singing, especially singing bass. His essence resided in his deep love for family and faith. Chris loved his grandchildren; they were very dear to him. He embodied kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand and known for his willingness to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. With a gentle and silent strength, he served as a role model for his children and grandchildren, exemplifying a life grounded in faith and integrity. Chris was an extraordinary man with big hands, a big heart, and a legacy of love that will forever endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind not just memories, but a profound impact shaped by his genuine spirit and unwavering commitment to his family and faith.
Chris is preceded in death by his mother, Saundra Kaye Bond; his nephew, Joshua Bond; his brother, Patrick Bond; and his mother and father-in-law; Bonnie and Richard Tyree; and his brother-in-law, Bret Herrmann. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Sandra Bond; his daughter, Kayla Farrow and husband, Clay; his son, Garrick Bond and wife, Keturah; his son, Dravin Bond and wife, Chelsey; his daughter, Kearstin Pittman and husband, Craig; his father, Gordon Bond and wife, Marcia; his 14 grandchildren, Wade Farrow, Blakely Farrow, Bowen Farrow, Kyler Farrow, Ava Bond, Evianne Bond, Zoe Bond, Leroy Bond, Bonnie Bond, Leon Bond, Renley Bond, Rayna Bond, Hallie Ray Pittman, Hayden Christopher Pittman, and a grandchild on the way; his siblings, Angelia Young and husband, Reagan, James Bond and wife, Nila, Emalee Morris and husband, John; his brother-in-law, David Tyree and wife, Beverly; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
