Betty was born April 27, 1937, in rural Bowlegs, Oklahoma. She was the cherished second child of Allen and Mittie (Walker) Wiggins. Growing up amidst five siblings, she began her educational journey at Goodhope schools until the sixth grade before relocating to Fox, Oklahoma. On a momentous day, October 2, 1954, Betty married the love of her life, Earl Perry, in Ada, Oklahoma. Together, they embarked on a remarkable journey that would take them across the country, as Earl fulfilled his calling as a minister. Throughout this adventure, Betty dedicated herself not only to her family but also to her dual passions—her work and hobby as a beautician. Her skills in hairstyling became a hallmark of her personality, revealing her creative flair and nurturing spirit. As a devoted pastor’s wife, Betty offered her unwavering support to the church community, imparting wisdom and love to the youngest among them by teaching Sunday School. She often opened her heart and home, babysitting for school teachers and ensuring that those around her felt loved and valued. Her culinary talents were only matched by her remarkable gift for gardening. Betty’s vibrant green thumb adorned her home with a beautiful walkway, where friends and family alike felt the warmth of her hospitality. Among the cherished memories is a particularly delightful trip to Australia, where, accompanied by Earl on a Crusade, she encountered a Tasmanian devil—a treasured adventure that reflected her spirit of exploration. Yet, above all, it was her deep love for family that will be remembered most. The joy of spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren filled her days with laughter and warmth, creating lasting bonds that will carry forth her legacy. Betty’s life was a testament to her strength, kindness, and devotion to others.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Mittie Wiggins; her brother, Floyd Wiggins and wife, Joyce; her brother, Jim Wiggins and wife, Delores; and her brother-in-law, Frank Wellner.
